Most motorcycle backpacks are made of textile, leather or cordura and are reasonably waterproof. With the better backpacks, a separate rain cover is supplied for heavy rain showers. Nowadays, fully waterproof backpacks made of flexible PVC material, rigid, streamlined backpacks made of polycarbonate or carbon and backpacks with an integrated back protector are available.
